Try Fortified PDAs this Holiday Season

If you have handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs) and a mind for healthy eating you can use this holiday season USDA’s free portable database to select nutritious food. A portable version of the USDA’s flagship National Nutrient Database listing more than 6,000 food items is available for download onto handheld PDAs. The unique product blends a custom-made searchable software application with the nutrient database. This will greatly assist consumers making decisions in restaurants or supermarkets and healthcare practitioners in clinical settings. Whether recommending low-sodium foods for cardiac clients or creating weight-reduction diets for customers, both physicians and dietitians will be able to access easy-to-use data.
