Suresh Nagumalli was awarded the 2017 Burdock Group Student Travel Award.
Burdock Group continues to encourage undergraduates to pursue a career in food ingredient safety and regulation by offering its Student Travel Award . For the 2017 annual SOT meeting held in March, an exemplary Ph.D. candidate, Suresh Nagumalli, was chosen out of several applicants. Suresh was given $600 to cover travel expenses to attend SOT, along with a commemorative plaque and a copy of Casarett and Doull’s Toxicology textbook, in which Dr. Burdock co-authors the chapter on Food Toxicology. Congratulations to Suresh on his achievements! Burdock Group looks forward to reviewing future student travel award applications for the upcoming IFT 2017 Student Travel Award.
Suresh Nagumalli
Ph.D. Candidate, University of Louisiana at Monroe, Department of Toxicology
Suresh is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, studying the variation in myelostimulatory and toxicological properties of different medicinal species of Echinacea. Since starting his studies in 2014, Suresh has earned membership in the Phi Kappa Phi academic honorary, and is a member of SOT’s Food Safety Specialty Section (FSSS). Suresh obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and a Master’s Degree in Pharmacology from Andhra University in India.
